Family members of children from Goldman School met with Louisiana legislators Tuesday to show off what the school is doing for their kids.

Legislators and family members were given first-hand information on the value of the early intervention, child developmental center.

Some parents were brought to tears after sharing their stories of how the Arc of Caddo-Bossier shaped their child's life.

"The kids here run the gamut because we're an inclusive environment where we include typically developing kids and kids that are struggling for one reason or another with development issue and are at risk for any reason," says Janet Parker, who works at Goldman School.

The Arc believes teaching children with developmental challenges alongside children who are struggling for other reasons will allow them to grow and give them the ability to attend other schools and, down the line, be able to be a part of the working community.
