Fmr. employee accused of taking $18K from company

A Shreveport man who is accused of using his company debit card to steal $18,000 from his employer is now in the custody of Caddo Parish deputies.

Detectives say 31-year-old Jeremy Byles worked for Brown Brother LA, LLC as an operations manager. His position gave him access to company accounts and debit cards. According to the sheriff's office, Byles took $8,800 in cash from the company account during 17 different ATM visits. Detectives also say Byles took one of the debit cards, and using a mobile card reader on his mobile phone transerred $9,223 from company acccounts to his personal bank account.

Byles was arrested by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Doug Smith and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on two counts of unauthorized use of an access card.
