3 injured after Friday morning accident on LA Hwy. 1 | Transportation

CADDO PARISH (KSLA) - Two people had to be airlifted to the hospital after an accident north of Shreveport Friday morning.

Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputies say a person driving a Saturn north along LA Hwy. 1 crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Chevy. The Chevy then went off the highway and caught fire.

Rescue crews had to cut the female passenger and driver from the Chevy.

The driver of the Saturn and the driver of the Chevy were airlifted to LSU Hospital. The Chevy's female passenger was taken by ambulance to the hospital. No conditions are known.

The department's Traffic Safety Unit continues to investigate the accident.
